Mult Site Ministry

EBA is committed to coaching churches interested in developing multiple sites. Simply email us at easum(at)easumbandy.com

One of the biggest movements today among U.S. Christianity is the number of churches experimenting with multiple site ministries. The number of multi site churches is growing so fast it is almost impossible to estimate the number, but it is thought to be more than 2,000 at the moment (mid 2005).

You can read about the various kinds of multi site churches in Beyond The Box, by Bill Easum and Dave Travis. You can order it from our store click here

Definition of Multi Site Church

One church in many locations.

At the moment, Northcoast church in Vista, CA seems to have begun the movement and now has the most sites – twenty at last count.

One of the smallest churches we found that became multi site is Sedalia UMC in Sedalia, MO. After 112 years of existence, the 195 attendance church started a second campus, then a third, then a fourth. The church is now approaching the 800 mark in worship. So you see this isn’t just a large church phenomena.

There are two basic kinds of multi site churches – those with a real live teacher on site and those with video feed. Both types usually have live worship bands.

A list of some of these churches can be found at click here
