Design an Event
We are glad to help you customize an event (workshop, seminar, or consultation process) that will enhance your mission. The following steps will facilitate our planning. Contact us by email easum(at)easumbandy.com or phone 361-749-5364.
Before our initial conversation, it will be helpful if you do the following:
- Clarify the goal: What do you hope will result from our event together?
- Focus the learning group: Who are the people or leaders that will attend the event?
- Identify the theme: What is the basic topic(s) to be addressed?
- Choose the speaker or leadership team: Are you seeking Bill, Tom, and/or one of our associates?
- Set the date and timeline: Identify 3 or 4 options to seek a match with the EBA calendar. An evening and a day, or 2 days offers more interactive possibilities than a single day.
- Select appropriate space: Aside from parking, seating, acoustics, and visibility, the space in which we meet should be suitable to the mission context of the event. Today, events located in sanctuaries, church buildings, camps and retreat centers are often less effective than events located in community halls or public places.
Once we begin our conversation, we will need to:
- Clarify the content: In-depth learning requires careful development of a realistic agenda.
- Design the process: Presentation, interaction, dialogue, table group or breakout group conversation, media presentation, and much more are all possibilities.
- Select appropriate technology: As a minimum, we need a lapel microphone and a suitable screen. We bring our computer and one LCD projector for images.
- Arrange for resources: EBA ships appropriate resources for a book table to be managed by the sponsor, and a master workbook to be copied for participants. Let us know if you invite other denominational groups or publishers to provide resource tables.
- Customize the cost: EBA is sensitive to the financial limitations of small churches, church plants, and culturally diverse congregations and will do whatever we can to negotiate expenses.
- Anticipate follow-up: Pre-plan on-line forums, follow-up events, or coaching seminars for the future. Our events are very rich in ideas, opportunities, and challenges, and participants always seek further help to network and customize for their contexts.
We highly recommend that you contact us at least six months in advance to book your event.
Book your event early to insure getting the dates you desire. Contact the EBA office for contract and cost information (361-749-5364 or easum(at)easumbandy.com).
