Fund Raising Letter for Church Planting

How to write a fund-raising letter in four paragraphs: 

 

1.       "Hi! As you know, we are planting a church in _______.

2.       "We are asking you to consider a one-time contribution to the work.

3.       "Please prayerfully consider the enclosed card (see below) and return by (date in 3 weeks).

4.       "Thanks for your consideration."

 

 

Card:

[4 boxes on card: $xxx; $xxx; $xxxx; $____]

74% of the time, people check the 2nd box.

Start with 3 figures - min. $100.

Use good stationery.

 

Not all people give equally. To people with more money, write, "You are one of (12) families who have

significant means. I am asking for a one-time gift of $10,000." [Raised $125,000]

 

Card:

[2 boxes: $10,000 and $_____ ]

 

Time to ask:

 

1.       After April 15 (tax refunds) to May.

2.       Don't ask Halloween to Feb. (Cmas) or Feb to April 15 (taxes).

 

When receive money:

 

1.       Send classy stationery, hard stock. Handwritten with marker: "Thank you for your gift."

2. After 3 weeks, send second form card: "Thank you for your participation. We raised $______."

3.       Send receipt with that letter. Then more will come in.

4.       Ask for one-time gift annually.
