Sacred Versus Secular

Why is it that people do not see the connection between what works in the world and what works in the church<//strong> (The heresy of Sacred vs. Secular)?

From Bill Easum

It is common for many traditional church members to "leave their brain at the door" when they come to church.  We have taught them to do that by fostering the heresy of sacred and secular.  Since there is no such division in the Hebrew mind there shouldn't be any division in our mind.  But because we have fostered it, people do not normally and regularly see the connection between what works in the world and what works in the church.  This is why older people feel that "God's house" is something special - children shouldn't run in "Gods house"; it is irreverent to eat or drink in "God's House."  MOOOOOOOO!!!

This is also why many pastors only read religious books.  They cannot make the jump from the business to the church world.  I seldom read religious books because they are seldom on the cutting edge.  Next time you experience something like this, remember, we (pastors) caused the stupidity by fostering the heresy of sacred and secular.
