Alternatives to Photoshop

(2004)

For most churches, the following alternatives to Photoshop should be sufficient and get the job done.  PhotoShop is a flagship program if you are planning on doing extensive image editing. However, you can start with a lower-priced program and see if it meets your needs.

1.       Paint Shop Pro www.jasc.com/  is an excellent replacement for most of the basics of Photoshop as well as an great editor of animation for simple projects. The cost is under $50 and a trial version can be downloaded for free. If you don't know a lot about image editing you won't miss the $ 300 - $ 400 ifference in price for Photoshop... at least not for a year or so...  Paintshop Pro reads Photoshop, so you can receive pics from others.

2.       Microsoft PhotoDraw and Ulead's PhotoImpact (www.ulead.com).
