Our seminar introduces church leaders to the basic structure of servant empowering churches. Those of you who attended our recent Convergence workshops have seen the introductory material in your handouts. Others will want to know they can read further about the organizational model in my new book "Spirited Leadership: Empowering People to Do What Matters" (Chalice Press).
We always talk about the importance of leadership. The challenge is to produce an organizational model that multiplies leadership. Leadership multiplication may happen spontaneously for a brief time, but unless church leaders learn to organize themselves to multiply leaders church growth often does not last beyond the founding pastor.
The organizational model for leadership development is also the method to have long lasting impact in shaping and transforming culture to the will of God and the way of Christ. We will learn through our discussion the significance of the foundation of trust, the role of a visionary board, the authority of management, and the power of true teams.
Each day I will post comments about these four big pieces of the organizational model. I invite all questions and comments as you ponder how to customize the organizational model for your local church and denominational polity.
