Take Newcomers Down a Different Pathway |

One effective way of changing the core discipleship pattern in a congregation is to begin with those who are new to your church. While long-term members often find it difficult to think of “doing church” in any way different from the status quo, newcomers haven’t yet learned those patterns. So don’t teach them to new folks! Instead, discourage new people from joining boards and committees unless they are gifted and called to such administrative tasks. Rather, journey with newcomers, help them identify their passions and callings, and team them in new ministry and mission ventures. The excitement and energy produced by such a journey will begin to transform your congregation from the inside out.
