DNA Accountability - Part 2

Churches need to move beyond discernment of DNA, to using DNA as a primary vehicle for accountability. There are five basic ways to do this. Here is the second:

Align every tactic (including budget lines, job descriptions, and even the decorations in the sanctuary and the refreshments served after worship) to the DNA. The board and staff should ask the question: What are the sidetracks? Where is our money or energy being sidetracked away from our primary mission and vision?

It may seem contrary to common sense, but the best way to evaluate the effectiveness of your DNA is to study the “sidetracks” that are deflecting your organization from its true purpose.
